This is Jim the Bunny Rabbit. He is 25 years old, nefarious drug addict, grade A asshole, and was born with bunny ears. This is a character I have been working on for the past several months and this is the pilot story I first made of him.
This is the first scene where he wakes up after spending the entire MONDAY night drinking and getting high off of any drug he could get that day. The reason he behaves in a constant state of debauchery is because of the clearly visible ears on his head that he thinks he was cursed with. When he was younger, people thought he was adorable and cute because of his ears, and he found that no one could take him seriously because of them. This complex began a viscious spiral and turned into what Jim does to the present day.
Jim has a dealer called ThaKushBender420, or if you don’t wanna feel like an absolute wet wipe, just call him Eddy. He’s probably Jim’s only friend, which makes so much sense, because the only reason Jim would be friends with a person like this is because as unthreatening Eddy might be, Jim swears up and down that Eddy sells the best drugs in their city. From Uppers, to downers, and to hallucinogens, somehow Eddy always has the most top of the line drugs on tap.
But with the copious amounts of drug taking comes with it’s risks. Fun fact, if you take a lot of drugs and combine that with severe sleep deprivation, you could end up getting drug induced psychosis, which is currently what Jim is experiencing now.
Here’s Jim on the bus. No matter where he goes, his hallucinations will always follow him. These hallucinations have been appearing now for about 2 weeks, and there comes a point in time where a bunny just can’t take seeing them anymore, so that leaves him with only one place where his troubles melt away...
LE PUB! This is where Jim usually goes to decompress after a long stressless day of doing absolutely nothing.
SO on top of being a complete and utter failure at everything in his life, there’s one thing he thinks he can win over... women. Unfortunately for Jim though, his manners towards women (as shown in this example here) seem to miss the mark. Every. Single. Time.
This narrative was all done in drypoint, which is something I have never really experimented before, but in the end I felt like it was totally worth the decision making in terms of how I wanted the narrative to be presented. Keep a look out though, you will definitely be seeing more of Jim soon! Stay tuned!
